As the General Manager of The Elephant, I was responsible for managing the daily operations, sales & marketing, HR management (including recruitment, training & rostering), WHS, budgeting, strategic planning, auditing, ordering, stock ranging and purchasing. I established a number of operational procedures relating to governance, legislative requirements, inventories and asset procurement.I operated within a heavily legislated industry, which has provided me with extensive experience in interpretation and practical application of best management practices within legislative boundaries.I was responsible for building and maintaining relationships with numerous internal and external stakeholders including regulatory entities such as SAPOL, Liquor Licencing, Council & Government Departments.I thrived on contract negotiations both locally and nationally and I enjoyed maintaining business partnerships I established during my 12 years managing The Elephant.I was responsible for developing targeted marketing and sales strategies in order to deliver corporate brand recognition and customer loyalty. I also developed, implemented and oversaw The Elephant's comprehensive social media marketing strategy and content to support brand awareness and identifying additional opportunities for business growth.With The Elephant's head office in Sydney, I produced a monthly Board of Directors Profit/Loss critique consisting of in-depth analysis, strategic planning and revenue forecasting. I also liaised with senior executive management and the Managing Director on a weekly basis.
