Driven by the collective need for businesses the world over to reach all important climate goals, my intentions with Carbon Managers are to facilitate the transition to a lower carbon future. With a passion for sustainability, I am excited about a world that transitions away from dirty fuels and harmful practices to one that utilises a climate-minded workforce to create a more sustainable global economy. As someone who has had the privilege in sailing a small boat around a large part of the globe - crossing the Pacific Ocean without much in the way of 'mod cons'! - I have seen the impact of corruption, pollution and a disregard for environment in the name of economic progress. On return from these adventures, I picked up a passion for the environment and researched ceaselessly the Climate Science and the Climate Change issue. I wanted to translate my concern into action and so I have been working with organisations from various sectors in the UK and abroad with understanding their environmental impact and measuring their CO2e footprints, be it more broadly with the full corporate emissions footprint, or more specifically with a product footprint Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). The sustainability sector contains a growing number of terms or jargon which can provide challenges for those in business wanting to take the first steps on their carbon journey. I want to help educate and facilitate change, getting companies to track emissions and more crucially understand the opportunities to reduce them. This in turn, engages employees on climate and begins to influence the greater landscape such as supply chains.Sustainability is not a tick-box exercise! Let's turn some 'climate willing' into some CLIMATE ACTION!
