As a property manager at Martin & Co Falmouth, I was responsible for managing a portfolio of rental properties, ensuring that they were properly maintained and that tenants were satisfied with their accommodations. This required excellent time management skills, as I was responsible for scheduling maintenance, conducting viewings, and responding to tenant inquiries in a timely manner. I developed strong relationships with property owners, contractors, and tenants, and was able to effectively communicate with all parties to ensure that issues were resolved quickly and efficiently. Additionally, I was responsible for marketing properties and negotiating leases which required me to be highly organized and detail-oriented. Overall, my experience as a property manager has given me a strong foundation in customer service, communication, problem-solving, and time management that I believe will be valuable in any future role.

As a ramp agent at Bristol airport, I was responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient loading and unloading of passengers, cargo and baggage, as well as the safe arrival and departure of aircraft. This required me to work effectively as part of a team, follow strict safety protocols, and communicate effectively with pilots, ground crew, and other airport staff. I was also responsible for maintaining equipment and ensuring that it was functioning properly, which required me to be detail-oriented and proactive in identifying and resolving issues. I became the leader of a team of four specialist operators. As well as the usual duties, we managed additional daily tasks, focusing on the efficient preparation and turn of the aircraft. Against a backdrop of critical staff shortages due to COVID management measures, my team achieved a 30% reduction in offload times – demonstrating a well-led and highly motivated group, confident in their abilities. Overall, my experience as a ramp agent has given me a strong foundation in teamwork and team leading, safety, and communication.

Store Manager of a team of six operators, and up to 55 couriers, in a customer-facing delivery operation. I was responsible for the routine stock inventories, vehicle safety and product quality, with clear direction required for such a dynamic delivery programme of a 24/7 business. I was responsible for communications with multiple departments and other stores nationally, ensuring that new working procedures and training were followed correctly. I resolved multiple issues in a timely manner, so that operations remained COVID safe, and that stock variance issues did not affect customers’ satisfaction. As a young leader the opportunity to work with such a professional team of operators was enormously personally rewarding.
