Manage and coordinate all pre- and post-award responsibilities for several faculty including: sponsored project submissions, award funding, account activity, financial reporting and close-out procedures.

• Managed and supervised 8 staff (6 financial analysts and 2 account technicians) and responsible for the financial management of the $1 billion Knight Cancer Institute (KCI) and Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology.• Worked with leadership and finance staff to develop a new financial model for all university and foundation funds to create an adaptive 10-year strategic plan for the $1 billion raised during the Knight fundraising challenge.• Managed the annual KCI budget process while working with finance staff to develop budgets and collaborate with KCI department staff to align KCI financial, strategic, and operational goals.• Provided financial guidance to executive leadership and unit directors for strategic and operational decision making to develop and implement program and staffing changes.• Defined and planned roles and responsibilities for financial team to align work with the Knight Cancer Institute strategic plan.• Developed processes and designed workflow to improve the function of the finance team for significant redesign of most tasks and functions.• Worked with OHSU central financial services and foundation staff to develop new financial systems to increase access to the latest financial information.• Promoted personal development of staff by using positive psychology practices, goal achievement, and fostering greater transparency through open discussions and shared decision-making.
