Part-time teaching position covering AP Gov, Us History, World History, and other subjects.

Over the Summer of 2023, I spent 400 hours working researching the History of Medieval Spain. The research was apart of my ongoing undergraduate Thesis on the Visigothic Kingdom of Late Antiquity/Early Middle Ages. Through this experience, I developed robust research skills and the ability to work independently with little to no direction. The only requirement I was given for this research was that it had to be 400 hours worth and contribute to existing scholarship. I was able to achieve this goal and am well on my way to writing a solid Thesis.

Over the summer of 2022,I worked 400 hours learning the ins and outs of how museums run. I worked with Dr. Peter Schertz, the Curator for Ancient Art, who taught me a great deal about museums, historic preservation, and Art history. While at the VMFA, I worked on four projects. First, I dealt with the deaccession of a large collection of antiquities from the Island of Cyprus. I was tasked with researching, appraising, and cataloging the collection. Second, I worked on a brochure for the Egyptian section of the Ancient Art Gallery, which required close collaboration with the education department and a great deal of research. Third, and in a minor role, I helped with the reassembly of a Greek Vase from the south of Italy and the establishment of its provenance. Fourth, the project I spent the majority of my time on, was the research and creation of a new display for the VMFA. Working with Dr. Schertz, I helped create a new Roman Coin Display in the Ancient Gallery. It is on view today.

A research position pursued in combination with internship at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. During this research opportunity, I applied what was learning at the VMFA in order to synthesize a paper concerning Ancient Art in modern museums and the value of Classical Antiquity today, which was presented as a speech in September of 2022.
