Wrote paper for publication on the deployment and use of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) across U.S. regional DOTs based off a survey conducted by the TSRC. Analyzed ITS use and barriers to ITS deployment in terms of both land-use and geographic region. Contributed to paper on the history of ITS and ITS-America.

Created, performed, and analyzed a survey of 450 department of transportation (DOT) officials across the U.S. on their organization's uses of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), future plans for ITS deployment, expected use of alternative fuels, and region's acceptance of automated vehicles (AV).Used Visual Basic for Applications and R 2.11.1 to create programs to perform non-parametric qualitative analysis on the survey data. Presented findings in a 35-page report.Contributed to a Marketable Report (MR) on the exploration of integrating in-vehicle ITS with infrastructure-based ITS deployed by U.S. DOTs as part of Integrated Active Transportation Systems (IATS) project.MR was written for the Federal Highway Administration and geared toward politicians and lobbyist.Wrote sections of MR dealing with the social, political, and legal implications and barriers of the project.

Assisted in the writing and editing of a report submitted to TRB.Contributed to a literature review for the IATS project.Explored the use of adaptive methods as applied to transportation projects.Explored developments in AVs and other in-vehicle technologies.

Graded engineering economics assignments for Dr. Takallou at the University of Portland. Work involved finding and correcting errors in solutions manual.

Designed Visual Basic for Applications programs to assist in the development of semivariograms to obtain adequate spacing for velocity measurements.Presented findings in a report and presentation to WTI staff.
