The Johan de Witt is a Landing Platform Dock with a crew of 150 persons and can carry up to 650 troops, an embarked staff and multiple helicopters and landing craft. My responsibilities are:-Head of current and future operations of the Amphibious Landing Ship -The conduct, the planning and analysis of operations and exercises-Daily manager of a group of 70 sailors, chiefs and officers with a large variety in personal and educational background-Assigned as the Operations subject matter expert for maintenance and mid-life updates of the ship and to liaise with other branches including logistics and technical departments.

Norfolk, Virginia Area

Working as an officer for the United States Navy to enhance cooperation and shared understanding between the Netherlands and US Navy. Responsibilities included:- Lead-planner of amphibious and naval exercises and operations with participation of over 30 naval ships, 100 aircraft and over 10000 marines and sailors- Core advisor for the Commander on all international matters including trans-Atlantic cooperation- Chairman of a multinational working panel on operations with participation of over 20 nations - Recognised by both the United States and the Netherlands for achieving excellent reviews by superiors

Core-member of Operational Staff to enable the responsibilities that the Netherlands has in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom: -Primary advisor to the Commander Netherlands forces in the Caribbean with regards to intelligence on military activity, regional geopolitical situations and narcotic operations. Responsible to provide operational units with accurate and time-critical information-Acting Head of the Operations Department (40+ Employees) and responsible for the deployment of units in the Caribbean during operations like humanitarian aid and disaster relief-Responsible to establish and maintain relationships with a large variety of foreign and domestic partners in security matters - Chaired organisational committee of the Caribbean Navy Days to accommodate 60,000 personnel form eight different countries- Developed relationships with the DEA, FBI, USCG and Joint Interagency Task Force
