After graduating high school I began college at Lewis and Clark Community College (LCCC) studying engineering science. At LCCC I was taught many skills that would not only be useful in the engineering field but in my professional career overall. Once I graduated from LCCC with an Associate of Engineering Science, I began a position in quality assurance at QPSI. In this position I learned how to work in a fast paced environment and make quick decisions to allow the production process to run smoothly. I learned organization and how to work with a team to achieve better results. After my quality assurance position, I was ready to face a new challenge and accepted a position as a laboratory technician for World Wide Technology (WWT). At WWT I learned how to maintain electrical equipment, ESD safety, how to run software tests on various electrical systems, and how to use warehouse management systems. WWT taught me many skills from troubleshooting problems to working with a team to foster a community work atmosphere.A new opportunity presented itself at Emerson where I accepted an engineering technician position. As an engineering technician I have been able to learn to use various types of lab equipment and processes to better understand the engineering process overall. I have learned how to work with others on projects to achieve better results and worked on communication skills, as well as see more of how the business side of production and engineering works.
