I am a Director of CRISP - Centre for Research into information Surveillance and Privacy and Chair of the Management, Work and Organisation Division of the Stirling Management School. I am one of Europe’s leading experts on the policy processes and governance structures surrounding the provision of CCTV systems and surveillance in everyday life. Between 20019 and 2013, I led the “Living in Surveillance Societies” (LiSS) COST Action, which involved a network of over 150 academics in 26 countries. I have provided policy advice/guidance on CCTV to the Scottish Government, the UK Information Commissioners Office and local authorities. I am also the Director of the MBA (Public Service Management) programme and have extensive experience of designing and delivering executive education for practitioners and policy-makers. I am a member of the European Group of Public Administration (Permanent Study Group on eGovernment), the Chartered Managers Institute (CMI) and the Surveillance Studies Network (SSN). I am also a member of the Editorial Board of Information Polity and an inaugural member of the Scottish Privacy Forum.
