Perform application development for Department of Administration departmental systems across web, windows and mobile platforms.

Database developer and administrator assisting in all functions related to database development and monitoring the integrity of AgSource and CRI databases. Major areas of responsibilities include analyzing data needs to facilitate new product development, making code updates to database structures to accomodate new data items and relations, and maintaining database schema and procedural libraries. Other duties include managing database backups and recoveries, maintaining database servers and documentation, and supporting development staff in all aspects of database usage.

Responsibilities include leading the Database Engineering Team in support of Oracle, DB2 and Microsoft SQL Server database products. Manage database structural design and development by serving as a technical resource, providing advice and guidance to senior leaders and driving the creation and implementation of new data standards and data storage capability.

Responsibilities included participation in and coordination of the daily activities of the Database and Data Communication (DBCC) section at the Division of Enterprise Technology. My primary focus was on the Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server distributed database teams, but I also represented the IMS, DB2, CICS, and IBM WebSphere MQ teams in management meetings for the section. My duties included research, making recommendations and justifying hardware and software required to support the activities of the Enterprise. To identify, define, document and implement operational policies, standards, guidelines and procedures needed to support and maintain proper service levels. I worked cooperatively with others on the team to meet the expected levels of service, and strived to deliver premier quality customer service. Guided junior members of the team to become proficient in the installation, configuration, administration, maintenance and support of tools and utilities used to provide the enhance efficiencies within the section. My other duties included ensuring that operational standards were properly maintained and communicated to those impacted, and that customer notification and coordination procedures were properly implemented and maintained. Ensured that workload for the section was understood, prioritized, managed, and clearly understood by all staff members. I was responsible for the implementation and execution of established Enterprise processes within the section, and where the section interacts with other sections or customer units. I actively participated in the development, documentation and implementation of IT services management best practices to ensure the quality of services delivered to customers and partners. I sought agency feedback, encouraged cooperation in Enterprise objectives and participated in Technical Architecture and Solutions discussions to develop, drive, and provide for the future state of information technology at DET.

Responsibilities included systems administration of MS SQL Server, Sybase, and Oracle database servers. I installed, configured, maintained, recovered & replaced 12 database, and 15 IIS servers in my tenure with the State of Wisconsin. I provided analysis, and design skills as well as general support to three-client server development teams. Software tools include ER Studio, Erwin, Microsoft Back Office, Visual Studio, .NET, Windows Server, and a number of turnkey software applications. Web development tools include IIS, Exchange, Index Server, HTML, and Active Server Pages.

Client server software tools included MS Office, Access, MS Project, SQL Server, Visual Basic, and Crystal Reports. Web development tools included IIS, NT Server, Index Server, HTML, .htx, .idc and Active Server Pages.
