As a member of the Monash Nova Rover team, I had the opportunity to use CAD software to model and design components of a Mars rover that competed in the University Rover Challenge (URC) and the Australian Rover Challenge (ARC). I also completed project design summaries and presented them to the Science Sub-team, and collaborated with team members and team leaders to meet project deadlines.Working on this team taught me valuable skills in collaboration and project management. I learned how to effectively communicate with team members and team leaders, and how to use CAD software to bring designs to life. Participating in the ARC also gave me valuable experience in competing and presenting our work to judges and industry experts.

I alongside Nova Rover members participated in a mechatronics design challenge focused on solving a theoretical engineering problem. This year's task was to efficiently dispose of "Fuel" and "oxidizer" pods into storage containers within a specified timeframe.My involvement included three main stages:1. Initial design phase: I contributed to brainstorming creative solutions, utilizing isometric drawings, and employing decision-making matrices to finalize our design.2. Prototype construction: I played a hands-on role in building the prototype, which utilized Arduino, 3D-printed components, and laser-cut materials.3. Final design phase: I provided insights into the overall design process and contributed technical engineering drawings for the final components.

As a member of Monash Solar Water, I had the opportunity to work on a project focused on raising awareness about water scarcity and designing water filtration solutions specifically in rural hard-to-reach areas. Our team provided outreach programs to educate communities such as the ENGage ENGineer event where we held a workshop promoting STEM to high school students. Working on this team allowed me to combine my passion for environmentalism with my skills in engineering and project management. I learned how to communicate with community members and stakeholders effectively, and how to design and implement a sustainable solution.

Researched and developed a grey water filtration unit with the end goal of sustainability. I utilised peer-reviewed articles regarding filter media and implemented flow analysis and pump head calculations to provide Wave Consulting with an end prototype that utilised a biological retention filter that captures shower, tap and bath water (greywater) to filter to a quality that meets EPA requirements for irrigation and/or indoor use.

I was taught the importance of providing excellent customer service whilst driving performance metrics and upselling promotional products. I developed strong communication and problem-solving skills, and I learned how to prioritize tasks and manage my time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

I gained valuable experience in handling sensitive medical information and verifying patient eligibility for COVID-19 vaccines as well as Government rules and regulations. During peak demands, I maintained a high level of professionalism and utilized necessary translational services to assist non-English speaking patients. This experience allowed me to develop strong organizational and communication skills, while also deepening my understanding of the importance of confidentiality in the healthcare industry. I am immensely proud to have contributed to our community during the pandemic and am grateful for the opportunity to have gained valuable experience in the healthcare field.

As my first job, I learned a lot of valuable skills in customer and food service and stepped up to meet the surge in demand during the COVID lockdowns of 2020, resulting in record sales. This experience taught me the value of adaptability and teamwork in achieving success.
