As an elected Senator for the Associated Student Government, I spent time learning the ins and outs of Parliamentary Procedure and the Ralph M. Brown Act and putting that knowledge to practice, working with my Committee on projects for the benefit of the student body, and working with governing documents and resolutions. I was elected Chair of the Student Activism Committee and the Governance and Transparency Committee of the ASG, meaning I wrote and published agendas, ran meetings, and plenty of other duties as necessary. I served as the Miramar College's delegate to the Student Senate for California Community Colleges, a nonprofit student advocacy organization, and participated in numerous SSCCC Committee meetingsand the 2020 SSCCC General Assembly, where resolutions were debated and voted on. I was the primary writer of several amendments to the ASG's Constitution and Bylaws, meaning it was mostly my job to formulate policy that makes the ASG a stronger organization today. I have attached some documentation for the project as a PDF.
  • Ralphs Grocery Company
    Bookkeeper
Ralphs Grocery Company Jul 2018 - Aug 2019
    San Diego, California
I was the backup. Two days a week, I was responsible for making sure all the cash from the service desk and registers was counted, allocating enough cash for the day's transactions to the tills, and securely depositing bills that weren't needed. I also processed the previous day's ins and outs, making sure things like money orders and lottery ticket payouts were documented and accounted for. When all the numbers were in the system, I calculated our week-to-date over-short, and reported that figure to management. I also did daily timekeeping, helping my coworkers make sure all their hours are documented before payroll, reporting labor statistics to management and corporate, and so on. These duties meant I worked extensively with accountancy and timekeeping software, as well as with Microsoft Excel, in addition to maintaining an usable office space and organized paper records.
  • Ralphs Grocery Company
    Replenishment Clerk
Ralphs Grocery Company Jun 2017 - Aug 2019
    San Diego, California
Partly manual labor, partly customer service, the Replenishment Clerk position was essentially the night-crew's job, but in the middle of the day. I was responsible for maintaining the shelves: replenishing, organizing, and facing them throughout the day. A few key areas and "fast movers" warranted special attention, but the whole store fell under my purview, meaning I would semi-regularly replenish certain sections (Dairy, Frozen, Meat, et cetera) when their departments needed help. I spent a lot of time stacking heavy things onto U-boats (a slightly misleading term we used for the replenishment carts) and maneuvering them safely through the stroefront before restocking shelves and displays. I also used a hand-held scanner to make a daily list of "lows and holes" for management. While on the sales floor, I helped customers find products they're looking for, often retrieving items from the store's backstock for them. I also received delivery trucks twice a day, making sure all the product on the order gets to the back room. I also keep the back room neat and (reasonably) organized, and most days, I was responsible for making sure the flexible plastic recycling was maintained and cardboard bails made, meaning I worked safely and often with powered jacks, a commercial fork lift, and a rather large and loud hydraulic press. I trained with and was certified for the jacks and forklift.
