About William Yang
I'm a post-doc in Prof. Chris Lord's Gene Function Lab at the ICR. My research focus seeks to understand the fundamental biology surrounding cancers that have lost the cell adhesion molecule E-cadherin (CDH1). This is the pathognomonic alteration of invasive lobular breast cancer (ILC), the second most common subtype of invasive breast cancer (~15%). My work aims to identify novel synthetic lethal interactions with CDH1-loss to better translate specific targeted therapeutics for patients, especially those in the late-stage metastatic setting.
