I help people tell their stories to wider audiences through diligent research, insightful interviews, and carefully worded writings. My ultimate goals are to preserve perspectives that might otherwise go unrecorded and try to make the world a smaller place. My main focuses are music journalism, New Orleans, and bridging Japan and the United States.I first ventured into publishing when I became a contributing writer at ANTIGRAVITY Magazine in 2016. Over the past five years, I rose to become one of the publication's primary music writers. I have published many well researched features (including multiple cover stories) and have penned over 100 reviews of music, books, and films. Through this work, I have helped to expand the concept of New Orleans music and culture to reach beyond the major forces typically recognized. I also seek out various freelance projects and enjoy joining forces with others to help carry out their visions. I've led freelance projects for various established entities, such as the Consulate-General of Japan in Nashville, the East-West Center in Washington D.C., and the New Orleans Jazz Museum. These diverse projects showcase my ability to adapt and service the needs of different clients.Since 2018, I have contributed features to the Japan Times, Japan's largest English language newspaper. I expanded the publication's music coverage to include highly esteemed names like Parliament-Funkadelic mastermind George Clinton and legendary jazz bassist Ron Carter. I've also engaged in coverage of lesser known Japanese acts and explored connections between New Orleans and Japan through my writings. My responsibilities have also included representing the publication at SXSW in 2019.Feel free to reach out to me via email at wwarchamb@gmail.com
