Archer then directed the world premiere of Carl Djerassi's An Immaculate Misconception at the 1998 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.In 1999 Archer moved to the United States to work on Bill Bradley’s presidential campaign. Creating behind the scenes viral videos for a Pollie award winning Internet campaign inspired Archer's television documentary Hand to Hand. In 2003 Archer founded Camel on the Line Pictures writing and directing video projects for the San Francisco Opera, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.
