Perform those activities that will ensure the operational readiness and long-life of departmental facilities, apparatus, specialized tools and equipment. Inspect commercial and residential occupancies to insure code compliance to maintain a fire safe environment. Conduct fire investigations to determine if the incident is arson. Process and arrest individuals of arson activity to ensure that justice is done. Instruct employees in fire service techniques in a classroom situation to impart knowledge that will provide department employees with current trends and theories of fire science. Perform those activities required to maintain the physical agility and stamina required to performstrenuous fire fighting duties. Attend classes and performs those activities required to familiarize and reacquaint themselves with the proper practices and procedures of fire science to effect an efficient delivery of services.
