The Institute was established in 1890, to help maintain standards and skills at a time when traditional skills were being lost. Over a century later, the Institute of Carpenters remains committed to upholding.

Castle House (UK) Ltd was originally set up as my personal service company. In time it developed into a business that provided a wide range of services generally in the real estate world. As a result of my business activities changing it became appropriate to close the company to release the accumulated funds in a tax efficient way.

Highbury (KU) Ltd was formed to acquire property investments. It is managed by Lane Castle on behalf the Directors and Shareholders. On completion of the investments and subsquent profitable disposal the company went into members voluntary liquidation,being the most tax effcient way for the shareholders to receive their share of the proceeds

William was responsible for all capital projects in excess of 5m euros in the cluster which amounted to 450m euros of construction expenditure spread over 6 countries.

William Avery set up and ran the company for the German based owners. The only asset of the company was Victoria House which is a 45,000m2 Grade 2 listed building in Bloomsbury Square London. William Avery managed the expenditure of £60m refurbishing the building is was sold for £153m in 2003 with the principle tenant being The Competition Commission.

William Avery was an operations board director and and head of the building consultancy department.
