I worked at TACT for three months as fundraising assistant, however due to the changing circumstances within the ‘Policy, Communications and Fundraising’ Department I had a wide variety of responsibilities within my role.• I managed many aspects of fundraising, from event management to recruitment and finances, reporting directly to the CEO• The charity’s social media output was my responsibility, which I used to generate interest in the Charity from new fundraisers and maintain support from previous fundraisers. • I assisted the policy advisor with research, created a data base of parliamentary contacts and helped launch a new policy press releases onto the Facebook and Twitter • I also wrote blogs and generated content for the website, which included a review of the London Marathon

ICYE is an international volunteer charity that organises placements for volunteers in 40 different countries around the world, including the UK. For the last two months I have worked as the Marketing and Recruitment Intern, however due to the charities size my duties can be very different on any given day which means I am expected to be flexible and do whatever is ever necessary.• Keeping social media up to date and engaging at all times, which includes running different marketing campaigns and making sure all content in relevant• Updating and maintain adverts online, ensuring they display the right information• Designing a variety of promotional documents such as flyers, postcards and PowerPoints to give out at recruitment events• Representing the charity at various recruitment fayres and events• Taking part in the training week for when volunteers come to the UK, helping them get settled in to UK life

Rochdale

After graduating from University I was a Teaching assistant in Rochdale supporting two children 1:1 with severe learning difficulties. • My main duties were to encourage the two children I worked with to engage with their work and to simplify all tasks to a more suitable level • One of the children I worked 1:1 with showed very aggressive behaviour and it was my job to try and descale the situations and gradually improve his conduct in class• I was also in charge of small groups for Maths, English and guided reading

Whilst at university, during semester breaks I worked as a support staff member at a playscheme for children with developmental disabilities. • This job required me to adopt a role of responsibility, to ensure the safety and well-being of the particularly vulnerable children in my care. • The experience developed my ability to effectively and appropriately communicate with these children.• It also gave me experience working as part of a professional team.
