As a research consultant at Evon Medics, and Emerson Research Institute I contribute to the development of new treatments to address opiate addiction and cognitive impairment, two of the most pressing public health challenges in the US. Through research, education, and advocacy, we seek to understand and address the interaction of culture, genetics, and social determinants of health in mental illness, substance abuse, and chronic conditions. I have published multiple articles and books on these topicsWith over 40 years of experience in psychology, psychiatry, and neurology, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team, as well as a passion for finding innovative and effective solutions.I am also the medical director of Springleaf Solutions and Prestige Mental Health , 2 nonprofit mental health and substance abuse public clinics that aims to reduce racial disparities in mental health care and substance abuse. I am also a clinical professor at the George Washingon University Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and President of the Senior Psychiatrists which promote issues involving elderly providers and patients related to the mission of the American Psychiatric Association.
