As Director I architect and maintain the overall IT landscape of a multinational environment. I have the oversight responsibilities for storage, backup, VMware, MS Servers, Active Directory, Exchange, and IT Security. I coordinate with all the teams to make sure Harris follows best practices and adapts as needed. In the course of my day to day activities I maintain a strong hands on position with the larger VMware/Storage environment. Some of my other roles include working with vendors as needed for project roll outs acting as the technical interface between Management and guiding the teams on deployment. My role in IT security is not only limited to implementation but also researching best practices in the constantly changing IT security field. This leads to my oversight of SOX and SOC2 auditing as well. Overall Harris Interactive maintains a thin IT workforce and I am called upon to utilize my wide array of experience and people skills to keep the company lean and mean. This job was eliminated when Nielsen bought Harris Interactive.

My job role was primary internal engineer for Synergy’s data centers. I managed and maintained the current clusters using two separate technologies consisting of Vmware Vsphere 5.0 and XenServer hypervisors. Responsibilities included a key role in overall management of the virtual Microsoft server infrastructure which included Microsoft AD and Exchange. The server environment consisted of Windows 2008 R2 and Exchange 2010. I was also responsible for the planning of the migration to Server 2012 and Exchange 2013. My secondary role included being the internal Security Architect. It was my job to facilitate internal security best practices and deployment of appropriate technologies and training. I coordinated with the networking team where appropriate for layer 3 networking issues as needed.

This equipment included but was not limited to POS, desktops, servers, ATM's, proof machines, laser printers, self checkouts, automated kiosks, and Cisco equipment. Software upgrades and installs were customer dependent which kept me in touch with most versions of Microsoft Windows and some Linux operating systems. I was required to work independently to solve problems while on site to minimize customer impact and downtime. I participated in an on call schedule to provide support to clients 24/7.
