Examples include a ticketing system whereby people fill out an online form to request a job from the GIS team, the for is submitted and automatically creates a task in Microsoft Planner using Power Automate. An email is then sent to the GIS team with a link to the task. Once the task is completed, another email notifies the GIS team and the tasker that the task is completed. Other tools include automatic map creation for standardised maps through QGIS Atlas and symbolisation rules, Python tools for folder tidying and creation and HTML templating. I have been tasked with the management and creation of carbon emission figures across the company. To do so, I created a standardised excel spreadsheet for users from each estate/enterprise to fill out their different Carbon Emission scopes. I then collate this data in PowerBI to create visualisations of this data. I also clean this data using Pandas in a Python Script and then put this into HTML page using JavaScript and Chart.js. I have started using Blender to create concepts for Buccleuch's Energy Team, taking 2D compound plans that I have designed in QGIS using constraints given to me and putting them into Blender as a plane before building each of the components in 3D over a DTM via Blender's GIS plugin. These 3D site plans have been so far used in public engagement. I have also created webmaps for public engagement including one for Oakley Bush BESS using Leaflet.js.FME is also commonly used. One use case is the creation of reports on farm conditions by taking location data, photos and condition information on points around a farm, cleaning this data and then producing a standardised PDF report via FME which includes information about each recorded point, an image of the point, a location on a map and the W3W. The title page and content are then combined using a Python Script. Show less
