I am the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Frontdoor, Inc. (NASDAQ - FTDR). Frontdoor operates a home services platform that provides service plans to homeowners. It is the parent company of four home service plan brands: American Home Shield, Frontdoor, HSA, Landmark and OneGuard. Frontdoor serves more than two million customers across the U.S. through a network of about 16,000 independent, pre-qualified contractors. Prior to Frontdoor, I was the President and Chief Executive Officer of H&R Block, the world’s largest consumer tax services provider. During my six-plus years leading the company, by far the longest tenure in recent memory following a string of short-duration CEOs, I provided stability, focus and a strategic vision that restructured H&R Block from a series of disparate businesses to a company once again laser-focused on its core business. The sum result of this transformation was that H&R Block under my tenure achieved highly enviable business results and outperformed the overall S&P 500, the latter a remarkable achievement given the tax preparation category typically sees just 0 – 1% annual growth. In addition to these recent strategic leadership roles, my focus on customer service as the core business enabler stems from my decades of experience in the retail, digital and consumer-brand space.
