My first role is a process engineer for the Powder Injection Molding (PIM) team which support the production of orthodontic braces, which are Class I medical devices. My role includes:1. Managing the transfer of legacy product lines using lean-based tools a) Transferring the manufacture of 4 product lines from a foreign country back into the US b) Validated changes with verification testing, installation, performance and operation qualifications2. Primary PIM Engineer for one of two manufacturing facilities a) Diagnosing molding and tool defects to determine appropriate course of action b) Investigating root cause for rejected work orders and recommending Use-As-Is, Rework, or Scrapping dispositions c) Developing rework processes with R&D collaboration to serve as verification testing 3. Mold making support (6 months) a) Designed fixtures using Solidworks b) Created Standard Operating Procedures for Electrical Discharge Machine with operator collaboration c) Collaborated with Tooling Engineers to reverse-engineer punch and die sets using Solidworks to provide a robust record-keeping system Show less
