Executive Director of Open Works, a 34,000 S.F. community-facing makerspace in central Baltimore. Oversee a full-time staff of 6 and a part-time staff of 23 engaged in running a membership program, studio space rentals, technical education programs, emergency manufacturing projects, and contract fabrication services. Major accomplishments include:+ Makers Unite / March-June 2020: In collaboration with Open Works staff, 288 volunteers, and two partner organizations, manufactured and distributed 28,270 face shields in 56 working days during the Maryland shutdown in spring, 2020. www.mdmakersunite.org+ MD Makerspace Initiative Program (MMIP) / 2022: wrote and led advocacy efforts to pass first-in-the-nation appropriations bill specifically for makerspaces. Published a how-to kit for maker advocacy in 2023 (bit.y/MakerPolicyPlaybook)+ MD Makerspace Association / 2024: Co-founder of the Maryland Makerspace Association in partnership with TEDCO.+ Westside Open Works (WOW) / 2024: signed partnership agreement with Coppin State University and raised $4M to date to build a second large-scale location on west side of Baltimore.
