Job Description – I was asked by members of the city government to establish an arts council for the city of Forney. I wrote the mission statement, constitution, job descriptions, and filled out all legal paperwork to establish the council as a non-profit entity. I promoted the council to leaders of the community and helped with the seating of the board of directors. All work in the creation of the council was complete after one year. The Forney Arts Council now has many members and conducts many arts events each year.

Expanding from a music performance agency to include grant writing, non profit consulting, floral design, landscaping design, educational lectures, production, and organization of festivals, Collins-Bixler, Inc combined several creative endeavors under one roof . Strong advocacy for the fine arts, arts education, education, and causes that benefit people is the bedrock of our mission. Participation in the decision making process to distribute millions of dollars for fine arts organizations as a board member of The Texas Commission on the Arts was one way of accomplishing this mission. Appointment to Volunteer Executive Director of The Forney Arts Council benefitted a community by promoting activities that benefited the arts and arts education. Many communities, businesses, organizations, and individuals profited from these efforts.
