Director of Counseling Center and EAP progarm at USF. Professional staff consisted of Ph.D. psychologists, M.D. psychiatrists, and other doctoral level disciplines offering comprehensive clinical and counseling services to students, facutly and staff. Served as AVP from 1998 to 2007 in addition to these responsibilities, leading a division of 500 employees with strategic planning, TQM, and preparation for reaccreditation. Served on several task forces and assumed numberous upper leadership responsibilities throughout my tenure at the University.

This position includes leadership for strategic planning in the Division of Student Affairs, including the areas of Enrollment Management and Planning, Student Life and Wellness, and Academic Support and Achievement. The position also entails oversight and continuing line authority over the Counseling Center for Human Development, the Employee Assistance Program, Veterans Services, and wellness programs. University-wide consultation with campus academic, administrative, and support divisions and community involvement are also part of the responsibilities of this position.Examples of University-wide service and participation on University counsels and committees at the request of the president and vice presidents are as follows: 2004-2005 Represented the Student Affairs Vice President o the SBCS Leadership Team consisting of the President, Provost and Vice Presidents 2002-2004 Member Presidential Equal Opportunity Advisory Committee. This committee advises the President and/or provides suggestions on matters relating to the policies and procedures pertaining to issues relating to equal opportunity and affirmative action.2002-2004 Member campus-wide Task Force on Campus Safety. This full-time position involves supervision and administration of human services provided at the Counseling Center. These include the following: (1) Clinical Services, (2) Career Services, (3) Psychiatric Services, (4) Reading and Study Skills Services, (5) Testing and Research, (6) Practicum Supervision, Internship Training and Teaching, (7) Office of Veterans Affairs, and, (8) the Employee Assistance Program. The Counseling Center maintains a liaison with the State Division of Health and Rehabilitative Services with an office in the Center. Responsible for formulating, establishing, and interpreting policies pertaining to the operation of the Center and for program development. Responsible for evaluation of direct reports, financial operation of the Center, preserving confidentiality of records and test security, and University/Community consultation. The Counseling Center for Human Development is IACS-accredited for service delivery, and fully accredited by the American Psychological Association for pre-doctoral internship training.
