About William Dirkes, Jr. M.D., M.B.A.

I developed the Docutrial platform to provide a more efficient solution to capture and process clinical trial data for Sites, Contract Research Organizations (CROs), and Sponsors. As an Anesthesiologist, Hospital Executive, and owner of a Clinical Research company, I was frustrated with the mounds of paper, complicated technology, and inefficiencies in the clinical testing space. So, I took the initiative to develop Docutrial, an efficient and user-friendly electronic data system to solve these problems.DOCUTRIAL Docutrial is the next-generation solution for capturing and processing clinical data. It’s a paper-free, electronic platform for clinical trial and document management for eSource, CTMS, eISF, eReg, and EDC. HOW IT WORKS Docutrial uses electronic tablets, scanning, and file storage for document management. So instead of entry with paper and pencil, staff simply fills in the documents on an iPad/tablet with a digital pencil. Each site still uses its own source documents and forms, and all hand-written notations are captured and converted into digital format. And users can easily convert from paper and other eSystems in minutes. MONITOR DATA INSTANTLY Since all data is entered electronically, you can monitor data instantly and in real-time, instead of waiting for manual data entry into EDC days or weeks later. This enables more efficient remote monitoring and lowers travel expenses. Docutrial conforms with FDA regulations and ICH Good Clinical Practice Guidelines. And source documents are backed up on the device as well as in the cloud, protecting against data loss. THE DOCUTRIAL DIFFERENCE The Docutrial difference is simplicity- you have one platform that captures all data and eliminates entry into an EDC system, resulting in greater efficiency and reduced overhead at all your sites. Docutrial is also the most intuitive and user-friendly platform on the market, and even better, we’ve made it affordable. Reach out if you would like more information on Docutrial. I’d be happy to share more details!BillMY HISTORY I graduated from University of Cincinnati Medical School and started my medical career as a staff anesthesiologist. I moved on to a hospital C Level management role of strategy, clinical research protocols, and Electronic Medical Records (EMR). In 2010 I started Sentral Clinical Research Services to help physicians provide clinical research opportunities for patients and participate in scientific progress. It was from these experiences that I started developing the framework for Docutrial.

DocuTrial is a system developed to eliminate paper at clinical research sites. It incorporates the use of electronic tablets, scanning and electronic file storage to meet FDA regulations and ICH Good Clinical Practice Guidelines. The system improves site efficiency and reduces costs for sites, Contract Research Organizations (CRO) and Sponsors.WHAT WE DO We make it easy for data to flow from the site to the CRO, which improves efficiency for both the site and the CRO/Sponsor. This enables more efficient monitoring (remotely), less travel expense and a backup copy is kept at the site. All of this means you can sleep better at night.HOW WE DO IT Using an Apple iPad and Apple Pencil, sites can use their standard source documents and forms and simply fill them in. We capture the handwritten notations and convert them to usable data. SIMPLE to implement and simple to use.WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENTOur difference is that we have one platform to capture data. The simplicity of the Docutrial system makes it easy for a CRO to provide Docutrial to sites instead of a clunky EDC system and the sites no longer have to copy data from their source documents into EDC.✔ Learn More: docutrial.com
