This unique feature allows it to be used in hermetic seals between glass and metal over very large temperature ranges. One of the primary uses for these hermetic seals is in Infrared Imaging Cameras. We have been able to transfer our knowledge and experience with Kovar to machine other exotic alloys such as Titanium, Hastelloy C276, Invar, and a variety of Stainless Steels.
