If I'm interested in something, I dive all in (see my lobster video below!). Professionally, this means I'm continually learning how to better help people live healthier lives. Early in my career, this involved direct care and advocacy for thousands of individuals. I've always felt compelled to serve my communities and these experiences helped develop my emotional intelligence and shape me into a people-focused leader. However, I also have a very analytical mindset and enjoy the process of critical thinking, including data/research, cost analysis, and benchmarking. While often seen as opposing skillsets, I've found emotional and analytic intelligence to be incredibly complimentary. This blend has allowed me to influence executive levels of leadership and improve the organizations I've been privileged to be a part of, most notably in my strategy & design roles at UnitedHealth Group. I've recently moved into a role that will allow me to continue to be a people advocate, but particularly focused on the employees involved in business transactions. Whether a micro-acquisition, or an industry-disrupting deal, I'm solving to create a smooth integration process from the benefits-perspective, resulting in a better employee experience and ensuring the businesses have the engagement needed to achieve their goals. While there are no shortages of challenges, nuances, and learnings, I'm diving in headfirst!
