Manages the aviation program for Florida including planning, coordinating, implementing & directing aviation assets within the state. Manages aircraft maintenance & logistics programs, aircrew training programs, management of 150+ personnel, facilities planning, resource programming & budgeting in excess of $1.4 million annually, policy development & implementation, aviation safety & aircraft accident prevention programs, & aviation support to accomplish various missions. Manages the state Safety Program, which includes Ground Safety, Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene programs. Direct responsibility includes personnel management, facilities planning, resource programming, policy development & implementation, of an overall safety program. Ensures effective program implementation within a broad framework of Congressional legislation, executive orders, Public Laws, DODIs, Army and National Guard regulations & policies. Directs the effort of subordinates engaged in safety program management, special studies and advisory services. Acts as the principal safety advisor to General Officers for accident prevention programs. Ensures implementation of public law mandated programs impacting civilian and military employees working within the state.

Responsibility for mission command of a Digital Liaison Detachment, a Military Intelligence Battalion, a Transportation Battalion, a Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, a Expeditionary Signal Battalion, and a Band consisting of 2,222 Soldiers. Provides oversight and executes, planning, training, operations, personnel management, and logistics to support federal and state agencies, goals, and objectives. Serves as primary commander and headquarters for Base Operating Support - Integrator for Reception Staging Onward movement and Integration, communications, maintenance, transportation, liaison with state and county emergency operation centers, state logistics and warehouse management, and points of distribution management during state emergency response operations. Ensures all subordinate units have the resources to fully execute their state and federal missions. Evaluates the effectiveness of the installation strategic planning process. When deployed responsible for numerous host nation, NATO, and US base camps and clusters which may operate in multiple countries providing command and control, operations, and administrative support structures in support of operations. Sets base camp safety policy, coordinates with host nation civilian and military leaders, tenant units, contractors, DA Civilians, and volunteers to provide security, emergency services, planning, construction, contracting, sustainment, legal services, communications, intelligence, unit ministry and Quality of Life (QoL) services. Develops and executes comprehensive programs to improve productivity, cost effectiveness, and efficiency of installation activities. Maintains awareness of available resources & recommends distribution of allocations. Approves strategic and operational plans, policies, programs and procedures. Represents the ASG at ceremonies, official functions, and public and special community events. Meets with visitors to promote interests & community relations.

Commander of a Digital Liaison Detachment (DLD) providing liaison capability between U.S. Army Forces headquarters and multinational headquarters to enable digital interoperability, communications, situational awareness, mutual understanding, and unity of purpose and action. Integrates into a multinational, unified action partner, or interagency staff to meet requirements of senior military leadership. Enables knowledge management, security, foreign disclosure, diverse operations, tactical communications networks, planning, & execution of goals and objectives. Ensures the unit is manned, trained, and equipped to meet federal and state mission requirements. Provides direct support to and leads operations at the Florida State Logistics Response Center (SLRC) during state emergencies; directly managed & coordinated the logistics operations, inventory, warehousing, distribution across the state for medical supplies and other supplies & equipment to minimize loss of life for Floridians during the initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. Simultaneously served as rear Brigade Commander for 7-months (JAN - JUL 2021).

Strategic Advisor to the Chief of the National Guard Bureau as a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Manages the airfield in accordance with applicable regulations, United Facilities Criteria, Engineering Technical Letters, & applicable Federal Aviation Administration guidelines. Principal advisor on aviation matters, provides airfield representation at installation planning boards & aviation safety & standardization meetings. Coordinates daily operations with outside organizations and is responsible for the determination of requirements & management of special use airspace in support of operations/training. Provides briefings to senior leaders & represents the installation on staff visits concerning airfield operations. Presents leadership with information on airfield imaginary surfaces & potential impacts to aviation caused by obstacles, construction, or proposed construction. Develops long-range plans for future modernization of the airfield & ensures facility improvements & construction requirements are identified & programmed. Coordinates for airfield obstruction & engineering criteria waivers, airfield obstruction surveys, & pavement evaluations. Provides advice & technical assistance concerning airfield matters. Develops, implements, manages, & reviews airfield-related plans & programs. Gives guidance to the subordinate leaders for goals of the Airfield. Explains performance expectations to subordinates. Conducts daily & annual inspections of runways, taxiways, parking ramps, lighting & clearance areas. Responds to flight safety hazards & maintains a hazard log. Initiates overdue aircraft procedures & activates secondary crash alarm system. Responds to emergency situations on the airfield. Closes or suspends operations to runways, taxiways, & parking ramps when hazards are identified or aviation safety is jeopardized.

Manages airfield personnel, operations & services, including flight planning, flight data processing, Notices to Airmen, scheduling, customer service, aircraft fueling requirements, maintenance of transient aircraft, & ensures the airfield meets all required DOD/DOT regulations, laws & environmental standards. Maintains status on the availability of airfield equipment & facilities including buildings, grounds, & the assignment of office space, hangars, & parking ramps. Resolves disputes between tenants & other airfield customers. Develops policies and procedures, including SOPs, for use of the airfield to meet the needs of all customers. Develops & manages emergency personnel & asset evacuation plans. Projects, manages & provides budget requirements to the Airfield Manager. In coordination with the Airfield Manager, develops, implements, manages, and annually reviews airfield-related plans and programs. Coordinates with external agencies to ensure airfield requirements are included in installation-level plans such as Physical Security/Anti-Hijacking, Aircraft Pre-Accident, & Public Relations/Noise Abatement Programs. Develops letters & memorandums of agreement & operating instructions in support of airfield, air traffic, & airspace requirements. Coordinates with engineer assets concerning problems with facilities including long-range construction plans for the airfield. Recommends priorities for all airfield activities which compete for airfield or installation resources. Receives & approves/disapproves requests to use airfield facilities or equipment; develops the parking plan for large aircraft & aircraft involved in training or transit. Administers & monitors the maintenance program & is the property accountability manager for equipment. Responsible for planning, coordinating, & directing airfield operations, & assists the airfield safety officer in conducting weekly inspections. Serves as Contracting Officer Representative & State Air Traffic & Airspace Officer.
