This story is one of modern day adventure and exploration aligned with "Steinbeck's "Travels with Charlie" set within the current framework of Social Media use, creation and distribution. Travels with Buckwheat begins with a journey from a humble Upstate New York community to discover, and rediscover America. A story of self discovery and healing told using Buckwheat, a Hemingway cat, whom passed on April 5, 2018. Our journey captures the everyday American experience of the those whom we encounter as we drive across the United States. Buckwheat makes his last trip in May 2016 as we take off one last time traveling for 6 months from coast to coast amidst the 2016 Election cycle. We experience the clear political divide across the Country from Western State ghost towns to the Pacific Northwest back through the Midwest Rust Belt and into our home terrain within the beautiful Hudson Valley. Later we witness Donald Trumps election from the Xinyi District of Taipei, Taiwan in November 2016 and reactions to said election. In 2022 another extended trip across the US was executed. This time we wonder if the changes we experience reflect changes within the Country or in oneself. Conducted comprehensive case history in order to determine eligibility for long-range financial and health care planning benefits.Prepared Department of Veterans Administration applications with supporting evidence of honorable military service discharge, financial, medical, divorce records, and property assets.Successfully pursued denied applications for Aid and Attendance resulting in monthly Pension awards. Appealed a denied admittance to California Veterans home resulting in eventual admission. Cooperated with Legal Counsel to establish Estate Trusts, Burial and Memorial, and Veterans Health Care benefits.

Prepared and filed complex, highly sensitive USCIS Department of Homeland Security petitions and Department of State Visa applications for immigration benefits. Researched, collected, and submitted evidential materials used in determining legal residence status facilitating adjudicative decisions.Applications were successfully adjudicated without requests for additional evidence.

Conceptually framed strategic arguments and prepared research reports utilized by Counsel in a successful 5 year Mass Action litigation against Fortune 10 Corporation which resulted in two first round decision wins and un-appealed judgments in United States Federal Courts. Over 200 participants accepted confidential monetary awards.Reviewed more then 1000 Appellate cases identifying opportunities to support claimants position in 7 year old litigation. Defendants persistence, included filing a claim with then NY State Attorney General, Andrew Cuomo, now Governor, over the dysfunction of the NY State 9th JD Court System. Litigation began in April 2006, completed in November 2013 with defendant rewarded with larger share of equitable distribution.

Designed Business Communication, Organizational Behavior, Ethics, and Leadership courses.Inspired students to think, be creative, collaborate with, and effectively communicate ideas with one another using real world business issues as a backdrop for the class curriculum.Students analyzed Harvard Business case studies and prepared effective internal and external communication documents based upon the needs of the end user decision maker. Strategy matched electricity supply and demand in real time, using the internet and marketing of prices as promotional tools, creating an efficient virtual electronic marketplace, a market unachievable in the real world.

Performed independent consulting evaluation of this under performing IBM Global Service division failed 5 year capacity utilization reengineering project. Executive summary advised group and division senior management on Information Technology (IT) needs to optimize assets and operations. Took leadership role in pioneering the commercial licensing of Intellectual Property (IP) technology patents developed at IBM’s Research Division. Ascended to Industry, Government, and Academia relationship management role disclosing (IP) under confidential disclosure agreements. The result of this boundary jumping initiative was the establishment of the 1st Business Development group at T.J. Watson Research.The initial Patent "Ultrasonic Liquid Level Gauge for Tanks Subject to Movement and Vibration"​ was developed in response to a Class 1 Railroad needs. Specifically the Union Pacific Railroad sought a solution to save on fuel cost on their fleet of 5000 locomotives. Fuel is a Railroads number 2 operating cost behind labor. This patent valued at $50 Million dollars by Hertz Rental car would later be recognized by IBM's as one of the top 1000 Patents issued in 1998.

Worked in a broad range of engineering development roles within the Physical Sciences and Exploratory Silicon areas . Conducted independent and collaborative research on Binary, Tertiary, and Quaternary semiconductor Dielectric thin films using novel Inorganic and Metal Organic precursors and Systems.Films produced were evaluated for integration into IC products then being developed within the boundaries of the larger role of T.J. Watson's Silicon Technology Departments role for performance testing in new product development. 10 years’ project management experience owning and conducting independent semiconductor Research and Development (R&D) thin film process engineering using Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) systems from concept to completion. Successfully developed nine (9) “state of the art” binary, tertiary, and quaternary material processes using MOCVD, PECVD, and LPCVD systems using innovative materials and equipment concept phase, experimentation, and analysis: achieved desired material and electrical properties.Safely vented Silane gas to atmosphere without fire or explosion in clean room accident after non-authorized personnel testing gas distribution system vented high pressure regulator.Similar Silane accident in Japan resulted in loss of fabrication plant. Ensured compliance with IBM company and governmental safety regulations in connection with installation and use of hazardous, pyrophoric (Silane, Di-Choloro Silane), and poisonous (Arsenic, and Phosphine) gases used in CVD processes. Responsible for installation and process qualifications of 30 Hot Process and Low Pressure Chemical Deposition systems installations, upgrading and expansion projectsAttended IBM Hazardous materials and safety courses.

Once more a dual role within Research's Advanced Silicon Technology Laboratory.A pre requisite to tool qualifications was insuring the safety of the pyrophoric and toxic gas systems used in these expanded Silicon Semiconductor processing facilitys. As a result of operator error, I responded to a situation requiring the safe venting and release of pyrophoric, ( ignites and is explosive on contact with air and Oxygen), Silane gas. The root cause of a $300 Million dollar explosion and destruction in Japanese Semiconductor facility was a Silane gas explosion.Responsible for then Automating the Hot Process & CVD area of the 7-2 facility. Next installing and qualifying Sixteen (16) Low Pressure Chemical Vapor Deposition, Oxidation, and Annealing systems provided by Bruce Engineering and Applied Materials.Received a Research Division monetary award recognizing work was completed without interrupting the daily mission of the lab, to produce innovative Bipolar and CMOS Integrated Circuits critical to IBM's Hardware Technology Divisions new products, and a promotion.

Initial role within the Advanced Silicon Technology Group @ IBM Research was actually one of duality. 50 % of my time was in the area of Low Pressure Chemical Vapor & Atmospheric Deposition Systems, the balance conducting Exploratory Silicon Research in the area of doped Polysilicon. Groups role was to support Integrated Circuit & Product Development, proof of concepts, technology transfer too IBM's high volume manufacturing sites in East Fishkill, NY and Burlington VT.Hands on leadership and coordination managing the installation, and qualification of 16 Silicon based semiconductor oxidation and annealing tools, and processes. Awarded IBM T. J. Watson Research Division for successful 7-2 Silicon facility retrofit.Collaborated with Applied Material personnel qualifying 4 stack CVD manufacturing tool. Optimized Silicon Dioxide, Silicon Nitride, Polysilicon, and doped Polysilicon manufacturing processes for wafer thru put productivity and material property requirements. Worked directly with, and trained, manufacturing employees on safe use of production tools.The Exploratory role was one of experimentation with novel sources and systems, collaborating with the Research Staff Member whom would later develop the field of Silicon Germanium technology and currently holds the title of Chief Technology Officer @ IBM (2015)

Developed the first repeatable III-V, Aluminum Gallium Arsenide (AlGaAs) optical fiber semiconductor planar lasers from theory and concepts proposed by researchers @ IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center, AT&T Bell Labs, RCA David Sarnoff laboratories using Liquid Phase Epitaxy or LPE fabrication process. Conducted additional R&D process development engineering on Buried Hetero Structure lasers.Introduced by Exxon Senior Staff Researchers as their Expert Crystal grower at Conferences, resulting in heavy recruitment to lead InGaAsP laser development @ RCA David Sarnoff Labs in Princeton.Successful development of these planar lasers launched this Exxon startup, one in twenty Exxon startups were expected to be successful, its products introduced into military Aircraft applications, later acquired by the same Corporation. The Optical Fiber Telecommunications industry was launched 10 Years later when Sprint, the first Fiber Optic Communication Corporation was born.Recruited to lead the II-VI, InGaAsP laser development at RCA Davis Sarnoff, remained at Exxon developing buried hetero-structure lasers.
