The opportunity to keep people and communities safe and applying mathematical principles to real life situations creates innovative solutions to practical problems has always captivated me.As a Fire Protection Engineer, I provide consulting and engineering services for building code compliance, fire protection, smoke control inspection and design, and performance-based design solutions. Ensuring compliance with local, state, and national codes and standards keeps our buildings and communities safe. I have had the opportunity to work on amusement park attractions, college campuses, multi-use high-rise buildings, large atrium spaces, federal facilities such as the DoD, multi-family residential buildings, and public assembly buildings. With experience in conceptual design and special inspection of smoke control systems, I work closely with architects and property managers with permit submittals, testing and inspections of smoke control systems, smoke detector design and layout, and pressurization and exhaust system testing. In addition to my role at Coffman Engineers, I am a member of SFPE, Society of Fire Protection Engineers. SFPE is dedicated to engineering a fire-safe world and is the leading professional society for fire safety engineering. In 2018, I was nominated by my peers and elected to serve as the VP of Operations for the San Diego chapter. More recently, I also served as a Member of the Board for the Rocky Mountain chapter in Denver, Co.
