Riello is part of the UTC group. Since I was hired, I am engaged in two roles with a strong connection between them: Responsible for the Boiler Internet Connectivity and Electronic manager of regulation and control systems for commercial boilers, inside the R&D department.As regulation and control systems, I am responsible for the electronics for commercial boilers, generally for powers from 25KW to 600KW; As Responsible for the Boiler Internet Connectivity, I have to define, coordinate and organize the solutions for both residential and commercial boilers . Target users of these services are both end user’s and after-market contractors. My principal activity in "Save-Energy Srl" are related to the design of a Automated Meter Reading System (AMR) for Heat Costs Allocators for Civil Building following EN834 Standard. Designs are covering the Heat Cost Allocator itself and its implementation, the other devices of the systems like the Node Concentrator, the 868 MHz wireless stack, the USB-Wireless Stick, the firmwares and the softwares for handle the devices. A considerable part of time is spent on the validation and verification in laboratories, such as radiators thermal chambers (EN442 Standard) and HCA thermal chamber in Germany.

Team Leader for the "Save-Energy" Division and Senior Software Developer for the product called "Concentrator" (that is the device that stores measures from the Heater Meter Devices. Mainly involved into:- the definition of the system specification and the specification of the Communication Stack over both 802.15.4 Wireless Protocol and GSM Data.- Specifies and Implements the Concentrator Devices. USB Acoustic Keyboard ChipDevelopment of the chip used into the VKB (Virtual Keyboard Acoustic) products line. The basic functions are the acquisition and the signal processing and usb interfaces.the VTK is a device that can be used to create keyboards on any surface. Two sensors mounted underneath the surface enable the entire keyboard face to be made tactile sensitive.Activities: • usb interface analysis, firmware specification, i2c and usb interface specification, firmware / product test plan, usb test plan for USB Logo.• coding and integration of the usb side (chapter 9, isochronous endpoints, audio interfaces).• Validation on FPGA• Windows XP Test Application using USB driver from Thesycon USB.

As part of the new family of PLC WAGO 753, have been carried out various activities required by the IEC 61508 standard (Level SIL 3) for the TUV certification. The activity was carried out in Minden, Hannover.Activities:Design, Development and Integration of the Software Safety Layer (both C and assembly 8051). Support for Hardware & Software TUV Certification.

- Software Developer for a wireless Gamepad Controller

As part of the PROKIN and STABILITY systems, an electronic tilt-board that is fitted with a range of sensors capable of detecting each single angular movement (3D). I designed these system devices, finding new solutions based on Load cells and MEMs accelerometers. I also work on the related algorithms (both on signal processing and biomedical data). For these products I have: - redesigned the electronics parts (hardware and firmware ANSI C). - developed the physical model, the firmware and the application sw. The algorithms for calculating the C.o.P. (Centre of Pressure), the correction of mechanical distortions, and auto-calibration algorithms for both load cells and accelerometers. - developed stuffs for supports the production and the maintenance: prod. tests, boot loader, prod tools. Software Developer for a wireless gamepad system.

For more than two years I have worked on some tasks of the EuroFighter Tranche 2 CSG (Computer Symbol Generator ). All the work was carried out following the EFA Avionic Standard. Below the list of the main activities.* CSG HW-HW Acceptance Software: Senior Project Leader (group of 3 persons). Development of HW-HW acceptance software for the CSG boards, following the standards EFA: Acceptance Plan, Validation Test Product, Test Specifications, Test Procedures, coding, Test Environment Integration.* CPM and VIM Hardware Functional Acceptance Test Plan. Project Leader (Team of 3 persons) and Senior Software Developer. Development of the documentation and the code needed to overcome the acceptance phase according to the EFA standard: Functional Hardware Test Plan, Test Validation Product Document: Test Description and Test Procedure. Test Procedures Document. Coding of Test, the Test Integration Environment.

Ethernet Stack and FTP/TFTP Server-Client Loader.Analyst And Software Developer Development of an ethernet driver for PowerPC 405 with Physical Layer LX971A. tcp-ip stack integration. Removing the dynamic allocation of memory.

CSG Boards Boot Firmwares. Project Leader (team of 4 persons), Software Delveloper. Developed of two boot firmware for the common and specific boards of the CSG (both in C and ADA 95) according with the EFA standard lifecycle . The boards are based on PowerPC PPC750FX and PPC405GPr with PCI as module bus and VME as system bus. Review with the clients (Telidx (DE), General dynamic UK, Baes UK). SRS with Telelogic DOORS, design document in HOOD. Coding in C and ADA (Green Hills ADAMulti). Analysis of Functional Specification and Built In Test (BIT) specification.

- Development of a Functional Electrical Stimulator with Electromiograph control for paraplegics.- Design of medical devices for patients with posture diseases. The work was done within a physiotherapist team. Other activities was related to define medical protocols, software tools for support the post-analysis. The devices includes MEMs Intertial Sensors (accels and gyros)
