As a partner with our international tax practice, I specialize in cross-border tax planning for inbound and outbound clients. With nearly 30 years of industry experience, I have expertise in advising clients in tax planning for the purchase or sale of a cross-border business, post-acquisition re-structuring, holding company design and implementation, cross-border financing, and U.S. foreign tax credit planning. My work spans a variety of industries, including manufacturing, bioscience, oil and gas exploration, IT, beer brewing, packaging, and chemicals and fibers. My greatest accomplishments working with clients have included successfully defending clients on exam with the Internal Revenue Service resulting in no changes to their tax liability and helping a client obtain a multimillion dollar refund claim based on planning around foreign tax credits.My goal is to optimize my clients’ global tax positions and to develop tax-efficient cash flows to support their business development needs. They appreciate my creative, practical tax planning that’s aligned with their business strategies.I frequently speak on international tax topics at professional gatherings such as the Praxity North American tax conference and Strafford CLE courses, trade conferences such as Windy City Summit and US Mexico Chamber of Commerce.I received my bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University, MBA from Wayne State University, and JD from the University of Houston Law Center .
