Office Work:- Draw topographic & as-built surveys in AutoCAD using field data from surveyor using Trimble total station as well as automatic level data.- Prepare & design civil engineering plans for residential, commercial & industrial devlopments using AutoCAD. Includes preparing demolition plans, soil & erosion control plans, tree preservation plans, grading & utility plans, geometric/site plans, and details/notes per project specifications.- Storm water management design, including grading and utility design, detention facility design & compensatory storage design/calculations.- Engineering design for projects located within FEMA floodplain.- Permitting with local municipalities, City of Chicago, MWRD, IDOT, IEPA, U.S. Army Core of Engineers and other where required.- Coordinating engineering design with clients, arhcitects and developers throughout design process.Field Work: - Perform topographic & as-built surveys using automatic level. Includes locating & measuring impervious/pervious areas, determining drainage patterns, locating trees, locating utility structures & measuring inverts (depth/size/material) where required.- Construction inspections at project sites to determine if approved engineering plan is being followed (detention facilities, trenches, utility locations, grading patterns)- Site meeting with developers if issues arise during construction to provide timely, creative & acceptable solutions

Supported civil design and construction projects in cities and municipalities, which included site grading, utilities, drainage, erosion control, construction, pavement materials, materials testing, and surveying. Supported licensed engineer in designing sanitary and storm water drainage systems in new subdivision. Developed detailed site and drainage plans in MicroStation; interpreted specifications, evaluated estimates, and performed computations to ensure compliance. Assisted survey crew in shooting topographies using Trimble Total Station to set benchmarks and identify contours.
