As Deputy General Counsel & Assistant Corporate Secretary of Better Home & Finance Holding Company, I am responsible for corporate governance, public company reporting and compliance, securities, finance, and mergers & acquisitions.Prior to joining Better, I served as Assistant Corporate Secretary at Carrier Global Corporation, where I played a pivotal role in Carrier's transition to a public company through a spin-off from United Technologies. As the lead attorney for public company reporting and compliance, I contributed to the successful launch of Carrier as an independent entity. Working closely with the corporate secretary, I provided legal counsel on corporate governance matters to the board of directors and senior management. I also held primary responsibility for supporting the Finance and Treasury, Financial Reporting, Communications, and Investor Relations departments.Prior to my tenure at Carrier, I served as Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Secretary at Hertz Global Holdings, Inc., where I was responsible for public company reporting and compliance as well as overseeing corporate governance, executive compensation, and mergers and acquisitions. I was a team leader for the reverse spin-off of Hertz’s equipment rental business, which resulted in the car rental business being the “spinnee” and having its securities newly listed on the NYSE.Before my in-house positions, I was an associate at Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP and senior counsel at Wachtel Missry LLP. In these roles, I provided comprehensive legal counsel on corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, debt financings, public and private securities offerings, joint ventures, and venture capital.
