Elite paid student externship program of the U.S. Publish Health Service (USPHS) where full-time students entering their final year of professional training are paid while in school in exchange for committing to enroll in the USPHS Commissioned Corp upon graduation.

•Gather and populate patient safety evaluation systems (PSES) with peer reviews, case reviews, adverse occurrences, and patient complaint data from multiple electronic health record (EHR) platforms. •Monitor and disseminate PSES critical results to respective clinicians or clinician leadership.•Produce routine quality care and patient safety summary reports for management and hospital contracts.

•Coordinate multiple monthly physician and APP chart reviews for 30 hospital sites. •Produce monthly reports and notification for flagged charts to client hospital ER medical directors and risk management department utilizing Chart Reviewer. •Compile, redact, and proofread batches of randomized electronic medical records (EMR) for physician quality review panel (QRP). •Collect, analyze, and summarize QRP evaluations for risk management and medical-legal departments. •Develop deep familiarization and utilization of Chart Reviewer and multiple EMR platforms in fulfilling requests from physician management, risk management, and medical-legal departments.

•Develop, document, and maintain Chart Reviewer processes and standard operating procedures. •Collaborate and engage with Emergency Medical Associates (EMA) clinical executive leadership, IT department, and Clinical Information Manager (CIM) department to define and execute quality assurance roadmaps and strategies. •Communicate regularly with respective IT personnel regarding Chart Reviewer developments, enhancements, and defects. •Recruit, train, and manage On-site Chart Review Assembly (OCRA) CIMs in proofreading and redacting process.

•Coordinate multiple monthly physician chart reviews for each of EMA’s 30 hospital sites (Emergency Rooms) preparing batches of electronic health records (redacting, proofreading, and acquiring missing data) for a physician quality review panel. •Collect, analyze, and summarize physician panelists’ evaluations for risk management and medical legal departments. •Train, manage, and recruit multiple EHR chart redactors and On-site Chart Review Assembly (OCRA) CIMs. •Develop deep familiarity and utilization of multiple EHR platforms (Allscripts, Cerner, EDIMS, Emergisoft, McKesson, Meditech, Paragon, PICIS, and Wellsoft)

•Provide accurate, real-time documentation into electronic medical record (EMR) while accompanying clinicians during patient initial evaluation, reassessments, necessary interventions, and discharge or admission. •Gather relevant patient history from previous visits, hospital records, nursing notes, and EMS run sheets. •Communicate test results to respective clinician. •Continually update patient’s EMR, patient, and nursing staff on progress of patient's management. •Prepare discharge instructions and prescriptions for clinician signature. •Code and finalize EMR for clinician signature.

•Perform phlebotomy collections, administer EKGs, monitor blood glucose. •Collect, monitor, and document vital signs, including input and output of foods and fluids.•Provide patients with personal hygiene, feeding, bathing, ambulating, and dressing. •Assist clinical and nursing staff with procedures as needed, including BLS measures.

•Ensure the residence hall is an environment supportive of educational pursuits for students through planning and facilitating social, educational, and supportive activities. •Offer support and advice for crisis management, conflict resolution, time management, alcohol awareness, and social advocacy. •Patrol residence halls to ensure that any maintenance or facilities-related issues are addressed and uphold institutional policies.
