Steel Detailer
CurrentExperienced PEMB Steel Detailer who creates detailed drawings and specifications for the fabrication and construction of steel structures. Works closely with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure that the steel components of a project are designed and fabricated to meet the required specifications and safety standards. Extensive knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations, as well as a good understanding of steel construction techniques and fabrication methods. Experienced in both AutoCAD and TEKLA in order to create detailed drawings and models.- Interpreting architectural and engineering drawings to create detailed fabrication and construction drawings for steel structures- Creating detailed drawings of steel members, including size, shape, and location, as well as any holes, cuts, or other features.- Creating detailed drawings of connections between steel members, including the type and size of bolts, welds, and other fasteners.- Collaborating with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure that steel components are designed and fabricated to meet project specifications and safety standards- Reviewing and checking the accuracy and completeness of shop and erection drawings, ensuring compliance with design and engineering specifications.- Creating and maintaining a detailed material list, including sizes, quantities, and specifications of all steel components.- Communicating with the steel fabricator and the contractor to ensure that the steel components are fabricated and assembled correctly.- Staying up-to-date with the latest building codes, standards, and regulations, as well as new fabrication methods and technologies.- Using industry-specific software, such as AutoCAD and TEKLA to create detailed drawings and models.
