Following a succession of progressive roles in engineering and business development, I was asked by the CEO to develop an inaugural environmental strategy for the company, which for the past 20+ years has served as a credible foundation for creating value. Building on the success of that strategy, I led the creation and execution of an enterprise-wide strategy for sustainability, climate change, and more recently, ESG management. As a longstanding advisor to the Exelon Board and Executive Committee, I continually advised the Exelon Board and Governance and Risk Committees on current and emerging sustainability and ESG issues that significantly impacted the company’s business strategy and its stakeholders. Key issues brought to the attention of the Board and Committees encompassed climate change, social equity, environmental justice, shareholder activism, investor ESG interests, and reporting and disclosure.Over the years, through extensive collaboration on the development of sustainable business strategies with senior leaders across the organization, numerous initiatives have been launched that directly contribute to improved operating company performance, risk management, and enhanced value.
