Ever since I was a child, I've loved video games. My first experience was at our family doctor's office, where he had a Super Nintendo with Mario and Cool Spot (yes, the 7UP platformer). My parents brought home a SNES soon after, and my sister and I, and sometimes my parents, would play together. My dad eventually got a desktop computer, and I used it to play some games on Windows 95 like Minesweeper and Hind. Eventually I'd come home from school one day to see an N64 on the dining table. My parents weren't very into video games, but they loved that my siblings and I played together and had so much fun.I really did want to be a Marine Biologist until I was around 15 or 16 years old, and became so enamoured with video games and the experiences therein I decided I wanted to be a part of their creation. I started modding games like Gary's Mod, Counterstrike, Team Fortress, and Unreal Tournament. I would spend hours creating made up worlds in journals my parents got me, some of which I have to this day. When I graduated high school, I didn't go right into video games. I actually took a long time working many different jobs from concrete to landscaping to plumbing and heating. After toiling and struggling to find an interesting career, my mind came back to working in video games. I quit and immediately went to school at the Art Institute Of Vancouver. Between my teachers and YouTube, I learned how to work with different editors, make my own art, code in several languages, and actually make video games. Coding and working with the more technical aspect of game development is where my passion lies, I've enjoyed the years I've had in the games industry and look forward to what is to come!
