Senior Embedded ProgrammerComptrol Computer Control Ltd. 1990 - 1993MississaugaProgrammed real time Flow Through Weigh Scales and Yield Management Systems for flour mills. These systems utilized off the shelf single board computers for which some custom interfacing had to be designed. This position also required commissioning of systems in the field while interacting with mill management and maintenance personnel.

Senior Systems EngineerMotorola Dacscan Ltd. 1985 - 1989Markham, OntarioI Conceived of a new architecture for the data acquisition and control front ends used in Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. These systems were implemented using Motorola microprocessors, CPLDs and other off the shelf electronic components. Mixed signal design along with RFI/EMI suppression techniques were employed in all designs. The resulting systems could detect and isolate short circuits in less than 40 ms.
-
Systems ProgrammerMoniteq Ltd. 1981 - 1985Concord, OntarioConceptualized and developed software systems which took mearsurements from air and space borne Imaging Spectrometers and LIDAR systems and provide map outputs. The computers used for this were PDP-11 and VAX minicomputers, with the software implemented in Fortran, C, and Assembly language. I was also involved with the electronic design and programming of Zilog microprocessor based instruments used to collect the calibration information used by the air and space borne sensors.
