Chevron Gorgon Me&I Project, Barrow Island, Western Australia

Development and Implementation of CKJV 's HSSE training for the largest single natural gas project in Australia's history, Gorgon LNG Project A$54 billion. The site is located 50kms off the northwest coast of Australia and the island is the second largest in western Australia.Barrow Island is a Class A nature reserve with the strictest of quarantine procedures in place to preserve its pristine environmental condition, this is one of the major challenges within the project.Main Duties:Management of the Project HSE Training Department involving the supervision of twenty-threecompany trainers in the delivery of training material to meet both Parent Company and AustralianNational Standards.Managed a fourteen-strong administration team whose duties included scheduling pre- mobilisation training, post mobilisation training, refresher training and the upkeep of all HSErecords to meet internal and external auditing requirements.Developed and facilitated site-specific functional tests for operators of hand tools and plant machinery.Sourced and coordinated fifteen external training providers to meet project requirements.Overseen high-risk work license (HRWL) training, assessments by external parties and internal challenge testing to ensure verification of competencies held by all machine / plant operators.Strategically improved HSE performance by analyzing HSE trends, developing and reviewingHSE Management systems and managing HSE training programs.Delivered in-house HSE and Leadership training courses, safety-specific training, carried out functional tests and gave guidance on legislation, project policies and procedures in direct support to the HSE Department.Facilitated Quality Management audits to ensure compliance.Participated in HAZOPS workshops, incident reviews, TapRoot investigations and developed risk assessments.
