I graduated from Western Carolina University in May of 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management. Growing up around Charlotte, NC, I lived very close to my grandparents. I was always going over to their house to help my grandfather with different types of upkeep and new projects on their house. These things consited of reroofing their house, painting the interior/exterior of their house and many other types of projects. This was when I first learned about my interest in boots in the dirt construction. Once I got into highschool, I worked mainly in landscape until I eventually became a laborer for a Masonry Company. This helped teach me time managment amongst other things because I was juggling school, long workdays, and preparation for college.After I left for college and declared majoring in Construction Management, my interests grew drastically. I was able to recieve an intership at Rodgers Builders, located in Charlotte during one of my summer breaks. I was given the ability to work at a medical facility with the goal of building a bedtower on the property of an active hospital. During my intership I learned many tips, tricks, and gained new life and career goals. In the fall of 2023, I was given the opportunity to help a local community by putting together a bid package on a house that was being renovated. This project taught me skills such as teamwork, time management, problem solving, and many other skills.In June of 2024, I signed on as an Assistant Project Engineer for concrete side of Wayne Brothers Companies. I am very excited to grow and learn more about the world of construction with WBC.
