I build systems for network data collection and analysis which inform our products' views of emerging network security threats (including new threat actors, malware campaigns, zero day vulnerabilities and exploits). I am responsible for developing high and low interaction honeypot software as well as designing the analysis pipeline that produces intelligence out of the various network telemetry sources. I also develop pipelines that convert external published data feeds into systems that affect customer's deployed infrastructure.

I build automation to collect, manage and utilize large network datasets to extract actionable security intelligence for our security products, services and consulting teams. This data includes network traffic analysis, Internet reputation data, vulnerability scan data, passive and active honeypots, and a variety of other data sources that contribute to a greater understanding of the behavior of hosts on the Internet. In addition to developing the automation to utilize this data, I also developed and manage our Internet sensor network and manage a the organization's Hadoop environment from the base operating system to the datastack.

My role was to do rapid prototyping for new services within the teams. I also did consulting work when custom data analysis tools were required to deliver on the engagement. Finally, I had independent research work responsibilities focused on leveraging honeynet and darknet technologies into actionable intelligence for various product teams within Cisco.

I was an independent contactor for the Information Security department of Goldman Sachs during the summer of my Junior year at Purdue University. I wrote data analysis tools to perform data mining operations on a wide deployment of local vulnerability scanners. This data mining fed a set of report generation tools that I wrote that summarized vulnerability metrics for all layers of IT management.I was also a member of the Goldman Sachs "Tiger Team", performing ethical hacking excercises against specific systems to test the security controls implimented by various departments within the organization.

I was primarily responsible for aspects computer security across all of PUCC's instructional labs. This included performing regular security audits, performing logfile analysis (and supporting the tools that assisted that process), and a variety of other security related sysadmin tasks.
