My expertise in procurement, supply chain logistics and materials management has resulted in quantifiable operational efficiencies as well as cost savings throughout my career. While working for the Philadelphia Schools, I achieved $400K in annual savings by developing a forecasting system that afforded strategic procurement of purchases and inventory control. I reduced supply expenses for the NYC Department of Buildings by 12% within my first year by turning around an ineffective asset management department and controlling costs. Additionally, I was able to lower lead time 50% for automatic procurement items and 30% for put-away for a plumbing & hardware business by evaluating past performance data to manage its resources. A strategic planner, I implement change management initiatives that achieve buy-in from employees and external stakeholders to transform operations by fostering a collaborative approach and training employees on the benefits of new strategies. I spearheaded an inventory management project for the MTA by introducing industry best practices (ABC, control counting, random sampling) that resulted in improved turn times, and initiated a Just-In-Time inventory concept for supplies that improved on time delivery and increased the customer on-time-delivery fill rate from 60% - 98%. As Supply Officer for the U.S. Marine Corp, I reallocated $1.7M in supplies during Operation Desert Storm, and was award Achievement Medals for Supply Chain Excellence. My approach to management is to foster a culture of collaboration and empowerment that motivates performance excellence and employee satisfaction.
