• Purchasing representative on cross functional project team responsible for custom component delivery, first article acceptance and supplier qualification and commercial issues. • Input project planning (not MRP requirements driven) bill of materials(BOM) to determine current can build quantities, dates and delivery prioritization based on available inventory, requirements and open orders. • Effectively enhanced and managed the supplier base to ensure new product availability, innovation, cost reductions and market competitiveness.• Qualified First Article components and new sources of supply for: tight tolerance machined metal / ceramic parts, motors / gear assemblies, injection molded components, PCB and cable assemblies, electronics, multi- language manuals and custom hardware.• Resolved quality, manufacturability, accounts payable, purchasing and supply chain issues through analysis, negotiation, and timely implementation.• Updated MRP pertinent (cost, lead time, safety stock) system procurement data, confirmed BOM accuracy and transitioned new design components to sustaining production/purchasing.• Significantly reduced new product release by qualifying increased capacity and new technology sources by conducting supplier process, quality and capacity on site audits in accordance with new medical device supplier approval requirements.
