As a Production Quality Technician, I ensure product quality compliance on our production line. My role involves verifying key quality attributes, swiftly addressing non-conformities, and collaborating closely with production staff and engineers. As the Zonal President of the Ghana Optometric Association for the Eastern Zone, I led the strategic coordination and professional development of optometrists across the region. I fostered a strong network by organizing and chairing quarterly meetings, promoting collaboration, and ensuring the continual exchange of knowledge and best practices within the optometric community.Additionally, as a member of the National Executive Council, I played an integral role in shaping national policies and advancing the practice of optometry in Ghana. My leadership extended to participating in key association initiatives such as training programs, workshops, philanthropic events, eye screenings, and community-focused health talks. Through these efforts, I actively contributed to enhancing eye health and driving positive change in various communities across Ghana.

Working with Ghana Health Service has given me the opportunity to cater for the eye health needs of many people resident in the country. I have worked in three different hospitals in the service in both rural and urban areas. I have also been a leader to several outreach programs geared towards blindness prevention and eye health promotion. This has also enabled be build my career in rich experience drawn from serving as heads of department , outreach coordinator being a member of the Eastern Region Eye Secretariat.

I attended to the primary eye health needs of clients visiting the eye clinic. I achieved this throughcomprehensive eye examinations with various ophthalmic instrumentation and formulatingappropriate treatment plans for identified eye diseases.I came up with strategies to improve access to eye health services within the catchment area of thehospital. To achieve this, I initiated a weekly community outreach program in rural and remote areas. -Through this, people living with sight-threatening eye diseases like glaucoma, cataract, and diabeticretinopathy were identified for the necessary sight-saving interventions to be made. Throughout thecourse of my employment with the hospital, an average of 1500 individuals was seen through thisprogram each year representing about 25% of the total cases seen by the eye clinicAs the head of the department of the eye clinic, I ensured and maintained the smooth operations of theclinic through drawing duty roasters, writing periodic reports on activities within the clinic, andrepresenting the eye clinic at hospital management meetings. I directly supervised the work of 5 staffincluding 2 ophthalmic nurses, an optician, a general nurse and a health aide.

Attended to the primary eye health needs of clients visiting the center. I achieved this throughcomprehensive eye examinations and treatment of identified conditions with medicines, optical aids,and various optometric therapies.Increasing attendance and client base of the center. To accomplish this, I formed a partnership with 3nearby radio stations and 1 television station. The partnership involved periodic eye screening for staffand associates of the media stations in exchange for the advertisement of the center. Through this,attendance increased by 4 folds within the first three months of my employment with a corresponding50% increase in revenue.As the Head of the optometry unit, I coordinated the activities of the center including screeningprograms, world sight day celebrations, sale of spectacles, and contact lenses. During the course of myemployment, I directly supervised the work of 6 staff including opticians, sales clerks and health aides.
