About William Pack

I am a technical and business leader with over 22 years' experience in the Aerospace/Defense industry. With my background in Industrial and Computational Mathematics, I bring value to organizations with thrusts in any quantitative field including Engineering, Data Science, AI/ML, Scientific Computing, or Finance/Banking (Fintech, Econometrics). During my time in industry, I have led efforts to capture and sustain over $1B of contract business. My technical background includes extensive experience in both space-based and tactical (ground and airborne) Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) Systems Engineering, including system design and development; modeling and simulation; integration, verification, and validation; and test (lab, factory, and field). I also have deep knowledge of, and experience with, novel image processing techniques; AI/ML and Deep Learning for difficult problems facing the government and military customers; Data Engineering, Data Analysis, and Data Science including architecture and implementation; and Scientific Computing for physics-based modeling, simulation, and analysis for sensor performance analysis. The leadership roles I've held include Director of Systems Engineering, Chief Engineer, Lead Systems Engineer, Sensor Performance Lead, Sensor Characterization Lead, Principal Investigator, Proposal Lead, Responsible Systems Engineer, Responsible Engineering Authority, and Section Manager.I am a passionate advocate of STEM outreach and education, particularly directed towards African American youth. I continually seek opportunities to network with like-minded individuals/organizations and to participate in STEM outreach activities. Through public speaking, teaching, and mentoring, I actively seek to increase the population of African Americans in STEM fields with the goal of helping them succeed in this very competitive job space thereby diversifying the space.I am currently serving a 2-year appointment to the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) Industry Committee. I am an active member of both the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and the National Association of Mathematicians (NAM), two of the premier professional organizations for African Americans in STEM. I also sit on the Advisory Council for the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Texas at Dallas, in Richardson, TX.
