Using tax-smart, donor fund solutions, I work closely with financial advisors and individuals to fulfill philanthropic goals.An individual’s total wealth has two components – financial and philanthropic. As an estate planning attorney, I focused on the traditional planning areas that comprise financial wealth. As a Senior Philanthropic Advisor, I focus on the philanthropic component of wealth. Through thoughtful listening, asking questions designed to discover what the donor is trying to accomplish, and exploring alternative solutions, I am actively engaged with the donor to inspire them to create, preserve and distribute their philanthropic wealth. My goal is to help the donor build a legacy that will have an impact on the lives of themselves, their family, and others.

As an experienced attorney, I guide individuals and families in understanding the estate planning process – discovering their needs and articulating their goals. I work with a diverse client base to customize comprehensive estate plans, tailoring each plan to meet the client's unique needs and circumstances. Moreover, I help family members through the probate and trust administration process after a loved one has died. Finally, I assist small business owners in creating business succession plans.

During my time with the firm, I pursued business development opportunities – opening the doors to new clients while retaining existing accounts. I provided a range of legal services including, but not limited to: estate planning, probate, landlord-tenant, collections and contract disputes.

Working for a capital management advisory firm, I successfully updated and amended hundreds of defined contribution plans, restating the retirement plan documents within IRS guidelines.

Stepping into Cuyahoga County’s 2nd largest school district, I transitioned my legal expertise into helping the school district with its human resources and risk management needs. My role in Human Resources included the full life cycle of HR duties from hire to retire; applied HR/benefits-related laws; oversaw unemployment claims and appeals; member of Safety and Health Insurance Committees; member of management team to negotiate new collective bargaining agreement; conflict resolution; drafted hearing officers’ decisions in grievance and disciplinary hearings; worked with insurance adjusters and outside counsel to coordinate the defense of various employment, personal injury and property damage claims.During my tenure as Risk Manager, Workers’ Compensation premiums were reduced by $400K and $50K in rebates were earned. Property and casualty insurance premiums were reduced in the amount of $250K through the strategic solicitation of proposals from specialized providers, requesting quotes, and negotiating contracts. Functioned as the AHERA officer for asbestos related matters. I also pesonally delivered or arranged for various safety trainings and sexual harassment training.

My primary duties with the firm were handling legal matters but later, I also assumed Business Manager type responsibilities. Initial legal responsibilities centered on defending various personal injury and property damage claims. In defending these claims, I collaborated with industry experts, discerning causation for medical conditions, accidents, or alleged defective conditions to eliminate or mitigate liability. During this time, I also took over and managed a substantial collection practice. Later, I transitioned to concentrating primarily in the area of Estate Planning and Probate, helping people with their Will or Trust centered estate plans and post-mortem administration.As Business Manager, I directed HR compliance, payroll, accounts payable, equipment and supply purchases, and business records maintenance. I recruited, on boarded, and trained staff personnel and providing performance reviews.
