Responsible for coordinating with NAVSUP IRM Coordinator and makes program recommendations in implementing a comprehensive and effective system of internal controls, assuring compliance with DoD, Navy, NAVSUP, and local policies. Evaluated assessable units (AUs) to ensure they were operating effectively and in compliance with Navy policy by directing or conducting reviews on programs. Develops and publishes an annual IRM Plan; establishes and maintains an AU inventory and ensures designated managers are identified; implements procedures that identifiy, monitors, corrects, documents, and reports material weaknesses; assists program managers in conducting annual evaluations; prepares annual Statement of Assurance detailing whether management controls are in place and operating effectively; and ensures all required IRM training is accomplished.
